Havoc in Woking Town Centre

bB3392WTHLX-mheufE5WcEN4HEy69Uh9IZuosq-upbg,A2fnADOFDdU1sgn27sk9V4x-X89luMT7pwHJwJ9vk5UAs part of our ongoing recruitment drive LTCA Gladiator’s Junior team ‘Havoc’ spent the day in Woking Town Centre; handing out flyers and performing for the crowds, the girls really caused a stir.

Accompanied by Programme Co-Owner Luke and Coach Amy, the team entertained the onlookers, even providing the opportunity for some of the members of the audience to come and give the sport a go.

Alongside providing the opportunity for a team building day out, it was a great platform to allow the girls to perform in public and start taking away any nerves they may have had for their first competition.

Junior Team Captain Orla said of the event, ‘it was really great to be able to perform in front of so many people, and to get other people excited about cheerleading!’

Training Update June-July

It has been an amazing couple of months so far, with the Juniors working extremely hard to be ready for the competition season! It has been great to be able to welcome so many new people to our junior and senior teams and to be able to provide the opportunity for people to join as Rec athletes and test the waters before they join one of our competition teams.

We have been really impressed by the hard work and dedication the juniors have shown, now working towards their first competition, they are really starting to develop their skills alongside increasing strength and flexibility. Putting up with conditioning every week with very little fuss (much less than I would have made).

Hopefully they will be competing for the first time in November, we believe that they have the potential to do really well and can’t wait to see them on the mat. Alongside the Junior cheer we will be hoping to send a couple of Senior Group stunts to competition, to ensure they stay in peak shape for the competition season ahead.

It has been a period of transition for our Senior team, with many moving home after completing their university degrees and some embarking on long holidays and travelling abroad, so to accommodate this, we will be building more from the ground up. Allowing the summer as a period of group stunt and skill development before work on the cheer begins in September.

Now begins a period of hard work and fundraising to allow us to be in the best position for the year ahead!

We still have spaces on all of our teams so if you would like to join or come along, email us at info@ltcagladiators.com, where we will be able to provide more help

The session began in a similar vein, with everyone learning some new skills as well as building on things learn in previous weeks, before continuing with the short dance taught by coach Tez the week before.

As of next week training will continue as normal, with skills being built up in time for the competition season and looking to make good progress during the summer. As always, if you are interested in joining, you can email us at info@ltcagladiators.com!

Anyone is welcome to join the team, any age, boy or girl! Below are some pictures of us all together at the end of the taster session!

BCA Nationals Results – Open Coed Level 2 – NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

MaleOur final compete of the weekend came in the form of our All-Male level 2 group stunt, where we came 1st!!!!! Granted we were against ourselves; however, 2 stars and a score of 115 is not to be laughed at (probably).

The group stunt was initially conceived with the view of having a laugh and that it wasn’t something to be taken seriously. Although when we arrived in warm up, that mood quickly changed, it was replaced by a need to do well and try and be as good as any all-girl or coed team we could have been against. Although our limited ability did slightly hinder that ambition – we are still really proud of our performance.

With a large number of the team being around 13 stone, when flying we sometimes looked out of proportion, but we made sure that every guy in the group stunt did his time flying at least one stunt. With thanks to Matthew, we even had a scorpion stretch in for good measure.

It is something we are going to build upon and look to compete at more competitions, maybe increasing the give in the trousers that we wear!

Make sure to look out for us at future comps, we do stick out like a sore thumb.
